About this Project

The aim of the DigiProduct course was to develop an existing service. Our team chose hairdressers appointments because we all had experience of being a customer for that service. The existing service felt outdated and had potential for further development since the service usually concentrates only on the core focus action which is to treat the customers' hair.

We came up with an idea of a digital service "Hiuskanta" which main idea is to provide the hair treatment history of the client for the client and to the hairdresser, to help the hairdresser at their job and to make clients even happier with the end result. The main features of the service were chosen with the help of brainstorming and using a mind mapping as our guide. We created a visualisations of a customer journey, product lifecycle, version tree, daemon and production process for the service. In addition to that we did a competitor analysis and a product card for our service.

We were also told that the final presentation couldn't be a regular PowerPoint presentation, so we had to step out of our comfort zone. For the presentation we planned a video, which Maria Raivio then created for us.

As an extra I also did a logo for our service outside of the course for fun, which is why it is not included in the final report.

What I learned

Our team worked smoothly, everything was done on time, and we had fun. Having two end users and target groups made this project really challenging in terms of communication between team members, but all in all it was interesting. I learned a lot about communication, defining a service and productization in general.
