My shoes infographic
2020
My first illustrated infographic ever.
My role
I was in sole charge of the project.
About this Project
This infographic is my first ever try on infographics. Even though I have no education on graphic design, I wanted to try making one because I think infographics are a good and fun way of visualizing information and data in a quick manner.
This project was done purely for myself, so I did not need to take external audience into consideration. The data shown here is chosen keeping in mind my interests and needs, and is based on a real data I keep of my footwear. Selecting the most essential data was the hardest part of this project, even though the target group is very small. Choosing the best fonts was also hard and most time consuming but also very educational experience.
The main goal of this infographic is to show myself some interesting and fun facts about my shoe collection. My aim is to do more of these in the future to see how my shopping habits, collection and preferences change and also how my visualization skills grow.

What I learned
This project thought me that there are many fun ways of showcasing data, and it doesn’t always have to be serious graphs and diagrams. Choosing the most relevant data is also important because you can’t showcase it all, and it can sometimes be hard to determine which data brings the most value. I also learned much about choosing the right fonts and how many fonts you can use in one piece. Most of all I learned that even though making an illustrated infographic was hard, I truly enjoyed the process.
