My role
I worked as an apprentice under Viivi Lehto-Peltomäki (Musta design), who was in charge of the graphic materials for this project. My main duties were the layout of the catalogue, choosing some of its images and processing them. I also worked with the space plan and made guide materials such as map and floor stickers for the event.
About this Project
Station Finland was a cross-industry export event and it was held in Frankfurt on 28.8.-31.8.2014 by Agma.
For this project a physical catalogue was made and handed to the attendees of the event. My task was going through image and text submissions and choosing images if someone had submitted more than we could use. I was tasked with the mechanical work of implementing images and texts following the layout design guide, which Viivi had designed, and to resolve deviating issues for example when the submitted text was too long or images had to be given extra attention.
I also designed a map and floor stickers, as well as made table setting instructions and space plans cataloguing all the needed furniture.
What I learned
This project taught me lot about Adobe InDesign, which I had used only a little before this project. I also learned lot about designing print materials as well as communicating with clients and other affiliates.
